Scenes that listen to your day.

NewMotion throttle – LumaSpace now respects Low Power Mode and drops particle counts by ~60% when your battery is below 20%.
NewTint-match: scenes can sample the dominant tone of your current macOS wallpaper and quietly shift their palette to match.
NewTwo new palettes: "rain, from inside" and "afternoon, late". Both tested against 3pm screen glare.
FixMulti-monitor focus: LumaSpace no longer pauses when you mouse onto a second display.
FixFixed a long-standing issue where exiting full screen could briefly show a white flash.

RenameIt!1.8.218 February 2025

Speed, mostly.

FixPreview generation is now ~2× faster on M1 and earlier Macs, matching M3 performance.
FixRestored the keyboard shortcut ⌘R for "regenerate suggestion" that disappeared in 1.8.0.
FixFile list now remembers its sort order between sessions.

Smartly1.6.018 January 2025

A smaller, slower cleaner.

NewScan time cut in half by reworking the indexing pipeline. You'll feel it on large ~/Downloads folders.
New"Maybe later" file bucket: anything Smartly is less than 95% confident about is now filed away instead of suggested.
ChangedRemoved the "aggressive cache cleaner" feature. It wasn't great, and it caused a few support tickets we couldn't live with.
ChangedRemoved the menu bar fan spinner. Smartly should be quiet software.
FixTrash is never emptied automatically, ever. This has always been true; now it's enforced with a test.

Finder extension, finally.

NewRight-click any file or selection in Finder → Quick Actions → "Rename with AI" – without opening RenameIt!.
NewNew "filename memory": RenameIt! quietly learns your preferred date format, separator, and casing.
New100% on-device AI via Apple Intelligence on supported Macs. Older Macs use the same local model we've always used – nothing goes to a server.
FixUndo is now truly a full undo: it restores original filenames, timestamps, and Finder tags.

End-of-year quiet.

FixAudio-reactive scenes now correctly route around Loopback and other virtual audio devices.
FixFixed a memory leak when switching scenes dozens of times per session.

macOS Sequoia compatibility.

NewFull support for macOS 15 Sequoia, including the new permission prompts for full-disk access.
FixTimeline view no longer flickers on Sequoia's new compositor.
FixFixed incorrect icon rendering at 2x on non-Retina external displays.

Shortcuts, and a calmer library.

NewShortcuts.app actions: "Set scene", "Pause LumaSpace", "Random scene", "Focus mode for 25 min".
NewLibrary redesign – every scene now has a short written description of what it's for, not just what it looks like.
ChangedRemoved the "featured" carousel. It was nice at first and noisy after a month.

RenameIt!1.7.022 October 2024

Batches of 500+.

NewRenameIt! now gracefully handles folders of up to 2,000 files in a single batch, with progress + cancel.
FixSuggestions now take modification date into account, not just creation date.
FixRenamed files preserve their Finder tags. (We thought they did. They didn't. Now they do.)
