Terms, fair
and short.
The agreement between you and MacLoveKit Studio when you buy or use our apps. The agreement between you and MacLoveKit when you use our apps.
The agreement
These terms are between you ("you") and MacLoveKit Studio ("we", "our"). By installing or using our apps you agree to them. If you disagree, request a refund through the App Store.
Your license
When you buy or subscribe to an app through the App Store, Apple grants you the right to use it under their Standard EULA. You may install the app on any Mac signed into your Apple Account.
Payment & refunds
Prices are shown in your local currency where possible and include tax where applicable. All transactions are handled by Apple through the App Store.
Refunds: If the app doesn't work for you, ask within 30 days of purchase and we'll refund you in full – no questionnaire, no retention call. Email hello@maclovekit.com.
Subscriptions: Some apps use a subscription model with a free trial. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) unless cancelled. You can cancel any time through the App Store or inside the app. Refunds are handled by Apple.
Updates & support window
A purchase includes two years of free updates and support from the date of purchase. After that, the app keeps working – we just can't promise new features or macOS-compatibility patches. A discounted renewal is always offered to existing customers.
Major version upgrades (e.g. RenameIt! 2 → RenameIt! 3) may be a paid upgrade at a discount for existing customers. We'll announce it ahead of time, never silently.
Acceptable use
Don't do anything illegal with our apps and don't try to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or circumvent the licensing.
- Redistribute the app outside the App Store.
- Use our branding in a way that implies endorsement or affiliation you don't have.
- Train a machine-learning model on the app's UI, assets, or source code.
Intellectual property
The app, its name, logo, UI, documentation, and website are ours. Your files and the content you create with our apps are yours – we claim no ownership or license over anything you rename, organize, or display on your own Mac.
Warranty
We make our apps carefully and test them on every macOS we support. That said, software has bugs. We provide the apps "as is", without warranty that they'll be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a specific purpose. If a bug is serious, we'll fix it – usually quickly.
Liability
Our total liability to you under these terms is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the incident. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages like lost work, lost time, or lost opportunity – back up your files, always.
Termination
You can stop using the app any time. We can terminate your license if you materially breach these terms (typically: piracy, chargebacks, or abusive behaviour toward the studio). Outside of that, we'll leave you alone to use what you bought.
Governing law
If a dispute can't be resolved by email, it'll be heard in the jurisdiction where MacLoveKit Studio is registered. Consumer-protection laws in your country still apply where they're stronger than the above.
App Store
Apps purchased through the Mac App Store are also subject to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Where Apple's terms and ours conflict, Apple's terms apply for App Store purchases.
General
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. These terms are the entire agreement between you and MacLoveKit about the use of our apps. If we ever assign these terms (for example, if the studio is acquired), we'll notify you in advance.
