Six small things we
sweat over, every release.

LumaSpace replaces your static Mac desktop wallpaper with moving video scenes. One thing, done well.

One library, two formats

Every scene ships in two flavours – a hand-graded still for stillness and a slow-motion loop for the days you want a desktop that breathes. Both are mastered in 4K HDR (8K on the stills) and look effortless on every panel from a 13" Air to the Pro Display XDR.

We re-encode every clip with our own perceptual pipeline – same look on screen, a fraction of the bytes. Forty-two scenes, around 2 GB total, and CPU stays under half a percent.

Video wallpaper that
won't drain your Mac.

Animated wallpapers usually kill your battery and spin up the fans. We spent four releases making sure ours doesn't.
01 – Energy

Idles like a sleeping Mac.

LumaSpace pauses every render the second another window covers the desktop, and resumes only when it's visible again. Most users see no detectable change in battery life.

02 – Light

Knows when it's morning.

Each scene carries four sub-loops – dawn, midday, dusk and night. LumaSpace blends between them on your local sun schedule, so your room and your screen always tell the same time.

03 – Place

Lives where you live.

Different Space, different scene. Different display, different mood. Connect a projector and LumaSpace will quietly remember it as "the lounge" – and pick the slow scenes by default.

Five handpicked
collections to start with.

Each collection is curated by a working photographer or motion artist. No stock libraries. No AI scenes. Just real places, captured at the right minute.

Sensible questions,
plain answers.

If yours isn't here, write to us at hello@maclovekit.com – a real person reads every email and replies within a working day.

Will it slow my Mac down?

No. At rest LumaSpace uses around 0.4 % CPU and pauses entirely whenever a window covers the desktop. On battery it switches to a lower frame rate automatically – most users see less than a 2 % impact on runtime.

Does it work with multiple displays?

Yes – every connected display gets its own scene, and LumaSpace remembers each one by serial number. Plug your laptop into a different studio and your "studio" scene comes back automatically.

Can I use my own footage?

Drop any .mp4, .mov, or HDR HEIF onto the library and LumaSpace will treat it like one of the curated scenes – same crossfade, same per-Space behaviour. There's no re-encoding step.

What about my privacy?

LumaSpace uses anonymous authentication – no email, no password, no Apple ID linked. We store your favourites and basic device info (model, OS version) on a European server to sync across your Macs and improve compatibility. We never see your name, files, or location. No third-party analytics, no advertising SDKs. Full details on our privacy page.

Is this a moving wallpaper app for Mac?

Yes. LumaSpace plays moving wallpaper scenes on your Mac desktop – real filmed footage that loops seamlessly. Not static images, not slideshow rotation. Actual video playing behind your windows.

Refunds, family sharing, education?

Cancel inside the app for an instant pro-rated refund. Family Sharing covers up to six Macs on one purchase. Students with a verified .edu address get 50 % off – write us, we'll send a code.

Also from the studio.
