Which Macs and macOS versions work

Short answer: if your Mac runs macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later, you're good.

macOS version

Minimum: macOS 14.0 Sonoma
Recommended: Latest version of macOS for best performance and compatibility.

To check yours: Apple menu (top-left) > About This Mac.

Apple Silicon vs. Intel

LumaSpace runs on both, but Apple Silicon Macs (M1, M2, M3, M4) handle video wallpapers much more efficiently. On Intel Macs, expect slightly higher CPU usage. See our Intel optimization guide.

RAM

8 GB works fine. LumaSpace typically uses 200-300 MB. If you're tight on memory, close the main window when not browsing – the wallpaper engine runs lean in the background.

Disk space

The app itself is about 50 MB. Each wallpaper you download adds 30-100 MB. Cache auto-manages at ~500 MB.
