LumaSpace won't launch after a macOS update
Sometimes after updating macOS, apps need a fresh start. If LumaSpace doesn't open after an update, try these steps in order.
1. Restart your Mac
Click the Apple menu and choose Restart. This clears out temporary issues that happen right after an update.
2. Update LumaSpace
Open the App Store and check for a LumaSpace update. We release updates frequently to stay compatible with the latest macOS.
3. Check your macOS version
LumaSpace requires macOS 14.0 (Sonoma) or later. Click Apple menu > About This Mac to check.
4. Reset LumaSpace permissions
After a macOS update, your Mac may have reset some app permissions. If LumaSpace opens but wallpapers don't appear:
- Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Screen Recording.
- Make sure LumaSpace is listed and enabled.
5. Clear the cache
If the app opens but behaves oddly, go to Settings and clear the cache.
If it won't open at all, manually delete the cache folder: open Finder, go to Go > Go to Folder, type ~/Library/Caches/, find any LumaSpace-related folders, and move them to the Trash.
6. Reinstall as a last resort
- Delete LumaSpace from your Applications folder.
- Reinstall from the App Store.
Your favorites, mood history, and account data are stored on our servers (if you're signed in), so reinstalling won't lose them.
