Troubleshooting

My Mac feels slow after installing LumaSpace

First, let's check if LumaSpace is actually the culprit. Open Activity Monitor and look for LumaSpace — normal usage is under 5% CPU and under 300 MB RAM.

Quick fixes

  • Enable Battery Mode from the menu bar — this reduces wallpaper quality to lighten the load.
  • Close the main window — your wallpaper keeps running from the background engine, but you free up preview memory.
  • If you're on an 8 GB RAM Mac, stick to shorter loops or static wallpapers. They're much lighter.

Still slow?

Quit LumaSpace entirely from the menu bar. If performance comes back, relaunch — sometimes a video player doesn't clean up properly, and a fresh start fixes it.
