Wallpaper not appearing on second display

If you have an external monitor and the wallpaper only shows on one screen, here's how to fix it.

1. Make sure both screens are detected

  1. Click the Apple menu > System Settings > Displays.
  2. You should see both monitors listed. If not, check your cable and try unplugging and reconnecting it.

2. Apply the wallpaper to the correct screen

LumaSpace supports per-screen wallpapers. When you apply a wallpaper, make sure you're targeting the correct display. Move your mouse to the second monitor and use the menu bar star icon to check the wallpaper status for that screen.

3. Re-apply the wallpaper

Open LumaSpace, pick a wallpaper, and apply it specifically to the second screen using the display selector.

4. Restart LumaSpace

Quit LumaSpace (right-click in the Dock > Quit, or press Command + Q) and reopen it. This forces it to detect all connected screens fresh.

5. Check your cable and adapter

Some display adapters or cables can cause issues. If possible, try a different cable or port.

Known issue: In rare cases, applying a wallpaper to a second screen may cause a brief flash. We're actively working on improving multi-monitor performance.
