Wallpaper stopped moving

There are a few common reasons your live wallpaper might freeze or disappear.

1. Battery Mode is on

If you're using a MacBook and unplugged from power, LumaSpace may have paused the wallpaper to save battery. Plug your Mac back in, or turn off Battery Mode:

  1. Click the star icon in your menu bar.
  2. Expand the Performance section.
  3. Turn off Battery Mode.

2. Your Mac went to sleep

After your Mac wakes from sleep, the wallpaper needs a moment to restart. If it doesn't come back in a few seconds, click the star icon and tap Resume, or open LumaSpace and re-apply the wallpaper.

3. LumaSpace was quit

If you fully quit LumaSpace (not just closed its window), the wallpaper stops. Open LumaSpace again — if you had a wallpaper applied before, it should offer to resume it.

4. macOS updated

A macOS update can sometimes reset things. Check our article on what to do after a macOS update.

Quick fix: Most of the time, just clicking the star icon in the menu bar and hitting Resume solves it.
